   JINGLE BELLS!!! Yes it is the yelutide season again,love is in the air and so is fashion.So if you are planning to be out and about this christmas having fun,you should not have to worry about what to wear and that is why I have decided to give you pointers on what to wear this christmas,it is simple yet elegant and what is much more better than rocking your outfit over the holiday and after! Yes they are totally wearable after the festive season infact they are simply a must have in every wardrobe.
    
     THE SEXY LITTLE BLACK DRESS
         Famously known as 'LBD(Little black dress)' it is a must have in every girl's closet because they are simply sophisticated and could be dress down with a blazer or denim jacket with a pair of heels or flats and with the right set of jewellries you will be looking chic.First introduced by Coco Chanel in 1921,it immediately became a contemporary staple in fashion so whether it is a strapless black dress or made of lace,a well made LBD is sure to make you look classy.

     WHITE DRESS SHIRT OR BLOUSE
      A white dress shirt or blouse is very versatile in fashion.Make sure you choose the ones that are flattering and accentuate your features.You could tuck it in or out and pair it up with pants,jeans,skirts or shorts and spruce your outfit with a little piece of jewellries like a bracelet or necklace.

   NEUTRAL BLAZERS
      I cannot really think about any classy outfit without the thought of a well tailored pair of blazer popping up in my head.Yes there is absolutely nothing better than a classic black blazer that goes with every outfit in your wardrobe but a white blazer is also chic and it is like the new black,unbelievable I know so you could match it with almost every outfit ranging from your pants to maxis,skirts,jeans and even shorts then complete the look with a nice pair of shoes.

   V-NECK SHIRT
  There is no easier outfit than a V-neck tee,so easy and comfortable to put on,so you can just wear it with a jeans or shirt for just a casual look and it could tone any statement outfit so you could totally wear it under your blazer or jacket and find the perfect footwear that match your outfit.

    BLACK PUMP
       If you don't own a pair of black heels,I'm sorry but I don't know what to say to you than go get ONE! A back pair of heels  is a timeless essential in every girl's wardrobe.This baby can be worn to sorority events to business meeting to parties,just make sure to get a pair that fits perfectly and  the toe is not too rounded or pointed.
  
   SKINNY JEANS
  Get a comfortable light pair of skinny jeans that you could wear with a blouse or shirt for a casual day out and you could pair it up with a well tailored blazer and complete the look with a statement accessory and a nice pair of heels or flats.This look is good for any event.

      ANGELIC WHITE
     
A white dress is a classic staple in fashion.
Have fun pairing up your white dress with various statement accessories like belts,bracelets,necklace and complete the look with a nice footwear like gladiators,flats,wedge or platforms.

  BLACK PANTS
   You might think that you dont need a black pant in your closet but my advice is think again.A black pant is totally needed in case of emergencies and when selecting your black pant,make sure to get the ones that are fitted all the way to the thighs and have a nice loose-fitting all the way to the tip of your foot.You can dress it up or down by pairing it up with your tees,shirts or under a jacket and match the outfit with a nice pair of heels.


   BALLET FLATS
    The good thing about ballet flat is that it is a totally classic staple in fashion but you should not spend so much when getting just one pair because they are known to wear out between a year or two.Ballet flats come in various designs and they almost never go out of vogue,so get pratical with your flats by getting different designs and pairing them up with different outfits and this is basically the number one footwear to put on when wearing leggings or pantyhose.This footwear is a total yes for a chic look and they are on every college girl must-have list.

   NICE UNDERGARMENT
     You might think getting a nice pair of undergarment is not neccessary but I will briefly stress the point to prove that thought wrong.If you don't wear a nice pair of undergarments,it is very likely your outfit don't sit right and when your outfit don't sit well,you won't look good.Get a bra with firm support and a nice pair of good quality panties.Don't ever think because no one is seeing your undergarments mean you could just settle for just any kind.Never settle for less.

   I don't know about you but it is all about the curves and Kim seems to put it all together perfectly and Eva? Well I don't know so who do you think wore this better? Eva Or Kim?

    We have seen jeans worn in different era and no denial,every era got its own personal style.It has been a classic for years and work well in both warm and cool weather making it look very stylish.Jeggings,boyfriend jeans,mini skirts-Denim trends cycle in and out faster than you can even say 'J brand,please'  
    But one trend that never seem to wear out is the jeans jacket trend either it is the sleeveless,oversized,cropped,bleached or the ones with elastic on the cuff(Gulp!),they seem to have walked their way into fashion and into the hearts of many.We see celebrities like Rihanna and Cameron Diaz rocking this trend and they look fabulous.It is indeed a nifty piece to own.   
   I will give you a short list on your denim jacket Dos and Don't.It goes thus:

Don't:Denim jackets are too casual to wear with more formal pieces

Do:Pair up your jacket with a monochrome ensemble For the evening

Don't:Denim jacket should not be worn with jeans,it is a denim overload except you can pull it off well

Do:Tone your denim Outfit,mix colours and combinations while rocking your denim jacket but remember to do it to avoid looking shabby.

  Now that's been said,I am going to tell you the best way to pair up your outfit.Below are the subsequent tips on how to look fab while wearing your denim jacket.

  For Men
*Wear your jacket with a neutral dress pant like black or grey with a coloured top
*Go All Black:Pair your jacket with your black pant and black shoe.A black top or shirt don't sound like a bad idea but remember not to go overboard and look gothic.
*Look Chic:Donn on a nice top and your chino or khaki then complete the look with your best shoe preferably from the converse line like all stars or Jordan.
*Snapback,check! Look forever cool:Wear that snapback while pairing your jacket with a t-shirt and if weather is cool wear a shirt now that's a good layer then complete your outfit with a nice pair of shoes.
*Rock Da Print:Don't be afraid to wear that print shirt or t-shirt you love,as long as you wear it right,you are sure to look dope 

  For Women
*Wear it with a maxi
    Be it a maxi skirt or dress,you are sure to look good when you pair your look up with your jacket and nice flats or sandal.
*Love The Print
  If you love that floral print dress or mini skirt,why not don it on with your denim jacket,now that's a chic look and don't forget same goes for your print pant
*Pair It With Your Jumpsuit
    Just like Cameron Diaz,pair up your Jumpsuit with your denim jacket and a nice pair of shoes.
*Angelic White
    Go all white then complete the angelic look with your denim jacket,we have seen Pippa Middleton dress it up and she looks perfect,you can too.
*Casual Tees Short,Pants And Jeans
      You can rock your denim jacket while wearing a casual t-shirt and shorts,coloured pants or you could wear a light or dark shade of jeans and complete the look with any footwear you love.
*Do it like Rihanna
  We all know she is daring and yes I love her,we certainly can't talk fashion without mentioning Rihanna so you want to be daring with your denim jacket why not pull a Rihanna stunt and pair your jacket with a jeans skirt and a cap but remember don't go overboard instead do it right!  Or stay away.
*Turtleneck And scarf
    Wear a turtleneck blouse with your denim jacket or dress up as you wish then add a scarf on the neck to complete the look but not just any scarf but a really nice fashionable one.
*Rugged is the key
  Let's do rugged and do it right so if you have that torn jeans or short,now is the time to put it on then complete the look with your jacket.Stay chic and don't go too gangster.

For Men And Women
  Spruce Your Outfit:To complete your look,spruce your outfit with a piece of jewellery,guys put on those trendy bracelets or a really nice wristwatch while ladies,go for a tiny set of jewels or beads or a pendant,Just remember to keep it simple and not flashy.

    Wear it right and look dapper while rocking your denim jacket.Have Fun playing dress up.

They both look pretty and have earned their respective place in the music industry but they couldn't predict that they would be caught wearing the same dress.It was obviously a night out as the 'Rude Boy' singer and 'Spotlight' singer both stepped out in glam wearing the same black mini cleavage baring gown while rocking their pixie haircut.
   They both looked pretty as Rihanna spruced her look with a diamond necklace and bracelet and wore a black heel while Jennifer rocked her outfit without accessories and paired her outfit with high thigh boots.
    It is sure hard to for me to say who wore it better so vote by using the comment box.

    This is my first ever shoe post and I am pretty excited.Today's post will be about my favourite fashion item which is none other than high heels shoes.Every fashionista should own atleast a pair of high heels,this is the classier type of shoe every woman should own.

    'A Girl's Guide To Fashion' This is a new series you will be seeing for the next few days.I will be giving you subsequent tips on how to do various things and I hope you will love it and practice,there is nothing more exciting in the course of fashion other than practical.
     If you think you are too tall or too big to wear high heels,think again.Why deny yourself of the number one fashion must-have,that could spruce any outfit up and make you look exquisitely elegant.If you don't have any good quality heels,hopefully this post will help you feel more confident about trying out those heels.These are my top tips in on how to walk in heels and in no time,you will be strutting like a pro in the highest heels.

   Start Off Small
     If you've never worn high heels before,start off small and don't try wearing a 5 inch platform,now that's a recipe for pain and even injury so instead start practicing with a 2 inch heel or a wedge and soon enough,you will be rocking a 6 inch stilettos perfectly.

   Slowly But Surely Strides
      Take  small steps,don't expect to walk normally in high heels as your strides get naturally slower when you wear high heels so walk step by step as you will be taking more steps than usual.

   Walk On Your Toes And Not Heels
      There is no shame in saying I was once a learner so get barefooted and start walking on your toes.It might seem hard at first but then hardwork always pay so while you are tempted to put your feet down-don't.Walk on your toes take slow strides and by the time you wear your heels,your strides will look more natural.

    Watch Models Catwalk
   Watch or download a video of models catwalking.See the models strutting on the runway though their walk might be a little exaggerated so tone it down to your normal strides and find a tiled floor where you can walk on a straight line so start your practice.

   Start Walking On A Straight Line
     Start walking on a straight line,I call this swaying.Itz like criscrossing on a straight line without making it too obvious then thrust your hip out a little,every time you take a step,one foot in front of the another and you will be strutting like a model in no time.

   Practice! Practice!! Practice!!!
    After doing all the steps above,all that is left is practice.Like every other thing,it is good and necessary try it out severally to be good at it so either it is walk up the stairs and down or a walk on a tiled floor,practice make(s) perfect,no matter how much reading you do,if you don't try the practical,you won't be perfect.So start practicing and you will be strutting like a pro on heels in no time.

   It doesn't get anymore awkward than this.Let's go back to the 2009 MTV music award where singers Shakira and Pink both made a red carpet appearance wearing the same dress! Yes very awkward,they both stepped out wearing the same Balmain dress with studs.
    The 'Hips don't lie' singer went chic and wore her mini dress with boots and wavy locks while the 'Raise your glass' singer tried to go girlish with black pumps but left her punked up faux hawk hairdo.
   I don't know about you but I believe pink has always been more of a bloke,don't get me wrong I love pink and her break up and love songs are truly amazing but looking at this picture I just feel she looks a bit out of place but that's my own opinion.

    I'm sitting here drinking coffee while am trying to get practical for this next article.Everyone loves top list and I thought I should make today's post all about the guys.So here it is,practical tips on how to look classy when going for a casual look.

1.Keep It Simple
    Simplicity is the keymate of all true elegance.Whatever you decide to wear,always remember to keep it simple.Don't wear more than three pieces of jewelry or more than three colours.Don't dress like a clown except you are in a circus or a rockstar except you are in a band.If you want to go for flashy,try something simpler like wearing a neutral striped shirt with a white blazer then put on a dark pair of jeans with a dressy belt and your sharpest dress shoe.You could add a flash accessory like a wristwatch to perfect the look.

2.Fit Is Perfect
  Keep your wardrobe stylish.Dump the oversized clothes for clothes that fit.The most dramatic improvement you can make in your style is making sure everything fits impeccably.Most guys love to wear clothes too large instead opt for what fits perfectly and hugs your shape without being tight.
 
3.Do The better Version Of Casual And Learn How To Pair Up Your Outfit
    Going casual don't mean you should look boring.Try something different,it is all about being creative,try on more collared shirts and say bye to those light blue jeans from the 80's and those ridiculous boat shoes.Baggy plus sleek don't mix,if you wearing big baggy or rugged sweaters or shirts then opt for rugged bottoms.Don't wear a sweater or hoodie with a beautiful slack or trouser.Instead put on shorts,cargos or jeans.

4.Don't Be A sucker For Trend And Brand Names
     Always remember that not everything trending is classy,so don't buy what is in vogue at the moment instead buy what you like.There is nothing worse than having a bunch of clothes in your wardrobe that you don't wear,so save up that money.Quit being a sucker for brand names.Ask yourself 'Am I buying this cloth because I love it or because it has a big brand name on it?' Always purchase an outfit because you like it for its quality and style and not because it has a logo on it.                  
 
     Dump This,Try This(Things you might not own but you could try out)

   Blue Jeans -Dump the light blue jeans for cotton slacks,grey flannel trousers,coloured conduroys or dark jeans.Step out of the 80's and 90's look and go for the contemporary modern look but say NO to skinnies,they might be in vogue but they certainly don't give that matured classy look you need well except if you are still in high school then it is okay to live your age.

   Hoodies -Swap them for sweaters,casual collared shirts,plaid flannels or light weight cashmere sweaters,sweater vest.You could still wear your hoodies but don't limit yourself without trying something new.

   T-shirts -Swap them for polo shirts,light weight long sleeves shirt and Henley shirts(the shirt with fly buttons in front just below the collar)  and shirts in various colours and distinct styles.
 
   Sneakers -Swap them for loafers.Casual leather shoes,brogues,dark leather sandals,wingtips,saddle shoes and there are lot of other options.If you still want to keep the sneakers,opt for coloured canvas options like All stars to stay stylish.

  Jackets -Opt for jeans jacket(either long sleeve or short sleeve),Waist coat jacket or you could go for the college boy look with the varsity jacket which is still very much trendy.      

Pant And Trousers -Swap them for simple yet smart looking khakis or chinos that come in various earth tone colours.Get shorts,they are comfortable and smart if worn right so pair them up with a button up shirt,simple t-shirt without design or Henley shirts then put on your loafers or sneakers.Granted,you will be looking dapper.

   Being stylish is being comfortable,so pick that outfit that suits you and makes you look stylish.Your appearance count(s) because you are what you wear.

    It's every girl's nightmare to take time dressing up to look good then you head out feeling like a million dollar only to find a rival wearing the same outfit you clad in.If only Paris knew the 'we found love' singer had worn this same dress a few weeks ago,maybe she would have opted for another outfit. They both went out in New York(different days though) rocking Alexander Wang corset dress and nice black heels while Rihanna went visiting Kanye West who she was romantically linked with and Paris had a night out with her boyfriend.I won't be judgemental so let me hear what you all think.

  I don't know about you but I am loving this trend and what trend am I talking about if not the latest,hottest and most remarkable trend yet from Africa and it is the contemporary 'Ankara Trend'.
   This pretty stylish trend came out of nowhere and it is rapidly winning the hearts of many,home and abroad.This trend is now worn by models on runways and is seen in almost every fashion show With African designers like Deola Sagoe and Lisa Folawiyo to name a few and going international we see some great designers like Givenchy,Marc Jacobs and Gwen Stefani falling in love with the African prints as you can now see it in some of their collections.
   We generally love the whole creativity that comes with it as we now see our favourite fashion items made out of Ankara.The whole era of Ankara accessories is simply amazing that you can't help but fall in love with it.Now if you want,you could get your handbag or that nice jewellery you love like your bangles,earrings and necklace made with Ankara or you could just purchase it.Another reason why I love this trend is that it doesn't only make you creative by learning how to make your own Ankara accessories but it also improve your fashion sense as you end up playing dress up and mixing up your Ankara with other fabrics just to look exquisite.
   Apart from the Ankara accessories in vogue,We can't help but notice the latest upgrade in our Ankara fashion as Ankara is now mixed with other fabrics to give you lovely outfits and celebrities who are already showing their love for this Ankara trend are Eku Edewor,Solange and the men are not left out with B Red rocking an ankara jeans jacket just to name a few of them.
  Gone are those days when Ankara was termed too colourful and were worn only for traditional festivals,thanksgiving Sunday and weddings.It is slowly becoming a worldwide trend as it was seen showcased at The African Collective Of New york and British Vogue Magazine.
  Virtually every clothing and accessories have their Ankara equivalent.The blazers,shirts,pants,shorts,jackets,bangles,necklaces and earrings without leaving out the shoes and bags.Nobody is left out of this rocking trend so Ladies,match your Ankara top with a nice pair of jeans or skirt then rock those heels or have fun with your flats and guys match that shirt with a nice pair of jeans or chinos or whatever you like to wear then you  have a wide range of shoes to choose from and if you going for that cool boyish look then opt for your sneakers,converse or whatever looks good on what you wearing.  
   This trend is not going out of vogue anything soon because it is colourful,versatile and affordable.This trend evolves every season with a new print and for those who would love to learn how to make this Ankara fashion items,I'll be posting DIY tips on them very soon so watch out.So regarding Ankara prints,what would you like to see trend in the year 2014.                                                

   You don't need a big bum to rock your leggings and look fab in it,I personally love leggings and so you'd know I don't even have a big butt.It is not how you look that determines how good you look in what you wear.

    Love 'em or hate 'em,leggings are here to stay(well as far as I can tell),just like your maxis,jeans and sandals,they are in every girl's wardrobe.If you wear them right,they can look hip and fashionable but when done wrong,they look shabby,not the least bit classy and even vulgar. 
   The few pointers I am giving you below will help you look fabulous when rocking your leggings.
 
  1.Leggings are not pants
       Don't get it confused,leggings are in between your tights and pants,they are not exactly pants and they should not be seen as such,just picture it like your panty hose or your tight well except its a little bit more concealing so you should never think about wearing a top or shirt that doesn't go below the buttock,you might have a nice ass but no one wants to see your vpl,thigh bones and your crotch area believe me when I say we see it all.Instead stick to fashionable tops,shirt or whatever you want to wear with your leggings so long it doesn't break the below-the-butt rules.If you really want something you could wear as pant,well get your jeggings which is more like leggings except that it looks a bit like jeans and could be worn without you necessarily following the below-the-butt rule.And also your standard leggings but it is better to be safe than sorry.

2.Dare To Be Bold
   Lately fashion has gone into another level when it comes to leggings,we now have the patterned  leggings that you could easily fall in love with but if not careful you could find yourself making a fashion blunder while trying to dress it up.Always remember,crazy but crazy doesn't go so well so when you want to go all the way with your patterned leggings,always remember that your top must be neutral,don't try mixing it with another print instead go with a plain neutral design,examples of colours you could choose while rocking your patterned leggings are white,grey and black.Stay away from those leggings with shining fabrics ,they might look good on the runway,tv and in music videos but you would be making a mistake if you think you could pull it off without looking shabby.              

3.Pair It Up And Look Dapper
   Finally,you want to go out and have people stare at you and be able to compliment you and not look at you like you just walked out of a horror movie.Stick to simple and if you want to go all the way,do it right as Fashionista Jess.c.Scott said "Simplicity is the keymate of all true elegance".Pair up your leggings with a nice top or t-shirt with your flat or sandal for a casual look and if you want to go a bit dressy,pair it up with a lovely blouse or shirt then put on a low heel boot or shoe and this is also the perfect time when you could rock your snapback and high tops or that little cute converse or all stars.But for party time,we go all the way so put on that sexy top or blouse then match it up with that cute blazer then don't be afraid to work those sexy heels so practice ahead so you could have a fun night and always remember to be bold and confident,that's what makes your whole look perfect.Nothing completes your hot look better than a tiny piece of jewelry either go with a pendant chain,something simple or a bib,in short whatever looks fashionable and spruce your outfit.      

    With all this,You should be able to work your leggings and look dapper and remember You are what you wear.
