Touching Lives: Wadi Ben-Hirki
06:07Many of us have the ability to touch lives and influence decisions and people around us but only few put such ability into action or put effort into create a better future for our generation and the next to come.
To my readers today, even though this is a fashion blog, it's also a medium for me to create awareness on certain issues and give credit to people who deserve to be acknowledged.
I got a chance to interview Wadi who is the CEO of Wadi Ben-Hirki foundation. I met her through one of my social media platform and I was impressed by her zeal to help her people. She's an amazing person and when I interviewed her, she said something "I believe in a better Nigeria and Africa"

Please Introduce Yourself
My full name is Wadi Victoria Ben-Hirki. I am the third out of five children. I was born in Lagos on 29th of January, 1997.
Are You Still An Undergraduate?
Yes, I am studying Accounting in Covenant University. 300 level by August.
Where Are You From And Where Are You Based?
I am from Adamawa State but live in Kaduna
So When Did You Start The Charity Foundation?
I started this year May/June at 18
That's An Early Start. So What Does Your Foundation Aim At Achieving?
Wadi Ben-Hirki foundation exists to improve Nigeria and Africa at large, by improving the lives of the less privileged children and harnessing their untapped talents.
So Is Your Foundation Restricted To Certain Areas?
No I'm not restricted to a particular place but of course, charity begins at home. Starting with the North especially Kaduna and Adamawa.Because I'm from Adamawa and live in Kaduna and because children in the North are most affected because of the insurgency.
So Far, What Have You Been Able To Do?
So far I have been able to visit Faith Works Orphanage Home in Kaduna. Spent Children's day with them. I visited government girls' secondary school Barnawa Kaduna and told them its a Blessing and not a curse being a woman and also how to channel their gifts and talents to the right things.
I also visited a small community in Iddo, Abuja. There, I met six orphan brothers and was able invite them for my program #everychildisyourchild which held on June 13th 2015. This month, the Foundation visited a family in a village in Kaduna and the foundation is also sponsoring his kids in school. The foundation also visited a small community in Kaduna and next week, we will be going to Adamawa to visit the children displaced due to the insurgency.
How Do You Get The Means To Fund Them?
Of course, we don't go on outreaches empty handed so we trust God to use people to donate no matter how little it is to ensure that people have better lives to live. At the moment, the Foundation hopes and believes that individuals, organisations and even the governments of many nations will support us in this glorious work of charity.
You could also take part in this change by donating whatever you have to this foundation GTB bank 0136033085 Wadi Victoria Ben-Hirki (Account name will be changed to Wadi Ben-Hirki foundation as soon as Bank verifies CAC certificate).
